Adapttech shares latest study results at AAOP 2021

Adapttech was present at American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists (AAOP) for the second time. This years Symposium was presented virtually for the safety and well-being of all.

The Academy Annual Meeting & Scientific Symposium it’s an event that consists of four days full of learning, news, exchange of knowledge and innovation. It’s the opportunity that O&P professionals have to keep abreast of the latest news in the market, and get the information they need to update their methodologies and solutions as professionals.

As a company in the O&P field, our attendance was both important and rewarding, as it enabled us to show the benefits of our new technology to so many industry experts.

On Friday May 7, Adapttech had the opportunity to share the latest outcome study results from the ongoing US dual-clinic trial of the INSIGHT System with industry experts at AAOP.

The study was conducted at two independent clinics – De La Torre Orthotics and Prosthetics in Pittsburgh, PA, and Prosthetics & Orthotic Associates in Middletown, NY – and used clinically recognized tests and validated scales for health, function, satisfaction and pain level.

“We were proud to share these latest results for the first time with industry experts at AAOP. We are now able to demonstrate that using INSIGHT as part of the fitting process can reduce the duration of appointments – as well as overall number of visits – needed to achieve an extremely comfortable fitting socket by up to 35% in our latest set of results. This is an extremely positive set of data and we look forward to gathering and sharing more time and cost saving benefits of INSIGHT,” said Frederico Carpinteiro, Founder, Adapttech.

In the latest set of data, the system review has demonstrated that across six sample patients progressing through the fitting process using INSIGHT, five improved their AMPRO score, and one patient – who is being fitted for a more complex running blade which is impacting his results – remained the same. Two patients improved their K-level score from a level three to a level four, and four out of six patients showed a marked improvement in their satisfaction with their prosthetic fit. The full report on the interim outcome study results can be found online here.

Cassandra Delgado, MSPO, CPO, who is leading the study at Prosthetics & Orthotic Associates, was present at the Symposium to represent Adapttech and to give her feedback on all of her experience on how our system has improved her clinical performance.

“I was able to share my clinical experiences using INSIGHT with peers at the 2021 annual meeting for the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists. As part of the ongoing outcome study, we have gathered feedback from patients and clinicians to demonstrate the positive impact INSIGHT has on the overall fitting experience, and we now have an exciting new set of data underscoring time and cost efficiency improvements using the INSIGHT System.”, said Cassandra.
