Adapttech's new product portfolio
Adapttech has recently announced one of the biggest news of recent times: a turnaround in its product range.
The development team has worked over the last few months to revamp the traditional INSIGHT System, adding new features to all its components. These changes have led to the creation of two distinct standalone products which can also be bought together in a professional package where the user will benefit from all its functionalities.
Get to know these new products that aim to continue revolutionising the O&P industry.
INSIGHT SENSE
Let's start with the new INSIGHT Sense, a simple, practical, and affordable pressure evaluation tool that allows prosthetists to better understand what is really happening within the prosthetic socket. This product consists of two wearable devices, a WIMU, an iPad, and 3 sets of 8 sensor strips.
Prosthetists just need to add the type of amputation, type of socket, and the measurements of the patient’s socket in the App. They then place the INSIGHT Sensors into pre-defined locations to obtain the necessary pressure data that allows them to sense what is happening inside the socket.
Through these acquisitions, the App records the patient’s history allowing the prosthetist to analyse and monitor their evolution. In just a few steps, INSIGHT Sense generates a 3D model identical to the patient’s socket and enables the analysis of objective data that shows the pressure map of the residual limb, both in static and dynamic acquisitions.
INSIGHT Sense benefits:
Each patient requires less time to achieve a comfortable socket
Creates interactive tool for prosthetists to educate patients about socket changes
Access to reports with objective data for insurance/reimbursement purposes
Easier to train prosthetic residents
Identify differences in socket pressure caused by alignment changes
INSIGHT DIGITIZER
The second product Adapttech offers in its portfolio is the INSIGHT Digitizer, a state-of-the-art scanner for lower limb prosthetic sockets and plaster casts that provides clinicians with a precise 3D model of the patient socket. The digitizer can work in two different modes, an accurate resolution (under 2mm) for analysis of pressure distribution and a high precision resolution (under 1mm) for socket replication. This product includes a WebApp that enables easy accessibility and file sharing by storing all 3D models in the cloud.
High Precision mode is a scan that displays a high-definition 3D model of the inner surface of the patient socket where the clinician can see, in detail, the socket surface. This mode allows for the INSIGHT Digitizer to be part of a clinical workflow to replicate patient sockets. Clinicians can quickly copy the desired socket and export it to a carver robot or a 3D printer; allowing the clinician to have a high-resolution socket archive while providing the patient with a quick and easy replication of their favorite socket.
The clinician can also adjust the socket in CAD/CAM software, by simply exporting the .stl file. This file can be imported into most 3D software, allowing for the clinician to make quick edits on the socket inner surface.
INSIGHT Digitizer benefits:
Quickly replace a damaged socket through carving or 3D printing
Reduce the footprint of clinic storage with a digital archive of patient sockets
Assessment of patient condition through the type of socket required
Ability to modify the 3D model of the socket to test on patient
Webapp provides quick and easy access to the 3D files
File exporting feature into .stl format for CAD/CAM software workflow
INSIGHT PRO
Last but not least, Adapttech has launched the INSIGHT Pro package, an ensemble of all products, making it the ideal product to assess and monitor the fit of patients’ lower limb prosthetic socket in real-time both inside and outside the clinic.
With this package, prosthetists will take advantage of the features of INSIGHT Sense and INSIGHT Digitizer, and will also be able to combine these two different tools to obtain the pressure map in an accurate 3D model of their patients' sockets, as well as being able to place the pressure sensors wherever they consider necessary.
In addition to all the other benefits, this package gives clinicians flexibility in their day-to-day workflow by offering them the tools to analyse patient socket pressure data both within the office and when at remote out-patient clinics.
All these new products are now available on the market. Please click on this link to book a demonstration with our team.
You can find these products at OTWorld (booth C30/D31) from 10 to 13 May 2022, and at AOPA from September 28 to October 1st, 2022.
